North Central Illinois | That is an excellent point. What we don't hear about is how for probably ten years running before 2008 forward contracting was a money maker versus sitting on your hands and doing nothing until harvest. In those instances the guys that didn't forward price anything had a hard time turning a profit on that years crop. It has worked out very well the past four years no question about it. The guys that have forward priced a portion of their crops in the past four years have still made money, good money, just not as much as the guys that didn't do anything and went with the hope and pray program. One of these days that isn't going to work so well again. Until then enjoy guys!! | |
