Driftless SW Wisconsin

Matt,

The difference (between the side dress structure and the ground hardness sensing structure) is due the fact there is a lot more pneumatic downforce required to get and keep an 18" coulter blade at 6" deep on the side dress unit than there is to sense ground hardness on the Foresight unit.

If we find we need more strength and weight in our testing in customer testing in spring of 2013 we will certainly add it. However our experience shows it is overdesigned for the sensing application as it is. But that is why we will have a lot of units in the field next spring before full release.

The Foresight generally operates at a lot lower airbag pressure than the Free Farm side dress coulter and the loads are different.

I also appreciate your reply. We are not going to try to make a "believer" out of you. The system may not be worthwhile in your situation.  But then again it may...  just a glimpse of the future.
