Subject: Vibration Damper Magnum

S.E. Sask.

The vibration damper on my 7130 failed today. Pulley moved forward far enough to throw and ruin the fan belt but is still jammed pretty tight so that I can't push the pulley back far enough  to remove it. I haven't got the studs loose yet. Supposed to be 18 mm but I can't get an 18 mm socket on. A 19 fits loose.
How long do these dampers usually last? Did I miss the warning signs? I'm at 6400 hours and it worked perfect right up til the  belt came off. Lucky I saw the alternator light come on and had to get towed home (by a tractor ten years older and 700 higher hours on the meter
