Subject: RE: Batwing gearbox?

Nevada, Iowa
The applications don't cross well as far as load demand but I have a 32'Mayrath truck auger that has been running JD corn head grease in the right angle gear box for about 15 years for the same reason. I fill it full with a zerk where the bottom plug should be and I used a 1/4" npt to 1/4 hose barb fitting on top with a short piece of rubber gas line for a puke tube. It'll lose a little from the tube when I first run it after filling but then it is good to go. I think you would just want to make sure there is an abundance of grease in the box to make up for the lack of the ability to flow. But then again, what the hell do I know? lol
