| It's a bit of the John Deere or CIH question. I know a few that have a iPad and love it. I have a Android Tablet and it works for everything I need. I like the Droid being open source. There are a lot of options out there, and always new ones being added.
I have an Acer A500. It has both USB interfaces which is convenient for interfacing with. It has WiFi, but not 3(4)G support. I didn't want to have to play for a data plan. If need be, I can tether it to my smartphone for Internet access away from a wifi network.
Either way, a tablet is sure nice for many uses. As others have mentioned, it's convenient on a plane, or traveling. It's great for record keeping and other computer applications on the road.
