Here's what I can find for Ohio...I'm not sure it really clears anything up though...there's a lot of "most"s, "likely"s, and "rare circumstances". From reading the Q&A pdf, I don't need a permit to spray fields, only if there's a chance the pesticide will be sprayed directly on water, according to the Ohio EPA. I'm not sure how much that would jive with the federal level though. Drift isn't an issue with the NPDES permit, but it has forever been a FIFRA issue so nothing has really changed there, from the looks of it. So using my "professional judgement", as long as I don't hang the boom over a ditch or creek or whatever body of water when I'm turning around, or spray through a waterway, I don't need a permit. If I'm spraying ditch or creek banks with Milestone for thistles, then I need one. Is that what you got out of it?
