I think Kooiker is thinking you are losing some "flex" on the tire by having fluid in them, essentially giving you a smaller footprint. Even though you would have the same weight, you would probably still be better off with the weights over fluid. Though this effect may not be as pronounced with bias ply as opposed to radial.
