Alberta, Canada | Thats too far 25-30 miles to travel with a self propelled making hay as your on the road more than in the field. I have a NH super 1049 balewagon and if more than say 2 miles I just a soon stack it right in the field then move it to the farm with the Stack retriever in the morning. But then "here" it rains every other day and the traffic is bad on the highway by my farm. Maybe a big trailer and a bale head for your loader would help? Then you could stack in the field and transport it home. Or like you mentioned if you could find a stack retriever. Those smaller ones if you can find them don't cost much as everyone wants the bigger models for 160 bale stacks at least up here.
This is the first retriever I rigged up for 160 bales. I made this bed and salvaged some hydaulics off of an old one.
