central - east central Minnesota - | Hay Man - 3/8/2012 22:28 Question : has anyone ever installed a spear on the plundger of a large square baler. and if so, where was it cetered, and did you put more than one on. How long of a spike, and did it make a differace in bale quality. I have one on my 336 JD baler, I have never had a bad bale yet. It does make a nice air hole in that size of a bale. Worried about the bigger bale.
WHen I was baleing yrs back, I installed the spike on the plunger of a 315 NH. It helped in tough hay . .
I too wondered if it would help on the 3x3x8 and such . . . .
I would think something like about 6 inchs in the center would give a good air hole to help "air" the bale . . . |
