Well obviously the shape isn't the same, but I don't see why the SMV wouldn't physically fit onto the placard, just cut the symbol up the center to allow for the fold. Other option is to just permanently mount a SMV to the rear and cover it with a plastic bag ( or make a cover out of tarp material) when not needed.
