Dayton, IA | Looking for a machine shop that can build up an axle where it has been wearing. I am in NC Iowa so the closer to me the better. All the machine shops I talk to don't want to weld on it because they say it will break where they weld. I got an identical rebuilt axle from Cat used parts and they said they send them out to a specialty shop that can spray weld and they have never had a problem. Would like to try to find a shop locally to have it done on my old axle instead of sending it to Cat for a core exchange on another rebuilt one. Mostly just to know where it can be done and fun to learn about something I know nothing about.
