will a 7240 or 7250 mfd front end hold up with front duals. Also I'd like to know if a 8400 would as well? TIA

We had front duels on a 7210 and 7220 and had no problems.

I just had the front differential go out on a 8400 that used to run 480/70R30 front duals... Don't know if that caused it. Now run 600/65R28 single tires on it. 6000 hours on the tractor.

You can run front duals on the RED tractor. Not on the GREEN one. Green front axle too light duty. I had duals on a 8420 w/standard front axle(1300 series) in my local JD shop for front seal leak. The service manager wouldn't put them back on, sent them home on a pallet and told me just asking for trouble. Sell them or buy a ILS or 1500 series front axle tractor.

7240 and 50 were not made for duals. Many have used them and got by but not recommended by CIH. If you plan to weight the tractor up and set duals for 30" rows you WILL have trouble.

We ran duals on the front of our 7250 for years as well. We ran the outside tire pressure a couple lbs lower then the inside trying not to stress the axle and got a long fine.

Then only thing was that it made it a bear to turn. If you do it check into adding larger steering cylinders.

Monticello Ar
We ran specialty Duals on a 7140 and 7250 for at least 8 or 9 years apiece. Never had any trouble other than axel seals but we had that problem just as often on the ones without Duals. I currently am running an 8410 and 8300 with specialty crop Duals we have ran them 2 years with no problem. These Duals we run won't match any row spacing. I was told not to try running row crop Duals on front or the 83 or 84 because the front end can't handle them. The Duals we run may have 4" gap between them.

SC Iowa
On the CaseIH have the wheel bearings adjusted to specs, if they are loose (most are by now) duals are hard on them.
