anyone know how much those hopper cones cost? Have a smaller bin I was thinking about putting a cone under. Has anyone done it before?

NEKS
I bought two 15.5 ft hopper cones from them 3 years for about $3300 and was so mad after the struggle to put the first one together the other is still in the shed. Those kits are a disaster to put together nothing lines up and the parts are not shaped right. The guys from M-K thought we were a bunch of dummies but from everything I hear on here we aren't the only ones that had problems. Buy at your own risk!

Neighbor bought one and said if he figured his labor at $15/hour and the cost of all the materials he would have been about the same cost to buy new. He said they had all kinds of trouble lining stuff up, redrilling holes and welding a lot. We were considering one but after his experience, no way. Dealer has one coming from some machine shop in Kansas(AgriFab Welding?). Supposed to be in two halves and bolts together. They took circumference measurements and got bolt hole spacings so it sounds like they are starting off better, but we'll see. It's not mine, but if it works for them we are going to get one.

bought one from them that was in two pieces and it was still a struggle. They were okay to work with but the hopper has a number of issues. Love the way it works but next one will be a different brand.

I guess I'm the Lone Ranger. I bought a cone for an 18 ft bin last year. Got it in two pieces, hauled it home on two trailers, set the 1/2's off with my forklift. I had the local tree service boomtruck come out and stand the 1/2's up on the pad. My son and I slid the 1/2's around with a skid loader and bolted them together, no problem. I had a crane come and lift the bin into place. Three of us worked with punches, bolts and elec impacts and got it all bolted together. It went pretty well for none of us ever doing it before. It looks and works good, so you can mark me down as a satisfied buyer. I am glad I decided to get halves rather than a bunch of pieces.

I think 18 ft is biggest you can get in halves. Mine (24 ft) pieces only.

Istumped, if you would like to see my 20 foot assembled in the harvestore, I don't think I am that far from you. It may help to see one together before starting, I wasn't real impressed with the drawings. Wish I would of had one to look at before starting. email in profile

Croswell, Michigan
I bought a cone kit a few years back, mine was part bolt together, part welded. I wish had just bought a new hopper bin instead.

If that's the guys out of mound ridge then they go together really easy. Would definitely get another one from them.
