Iowa | Need more info. Bench seat column shift factory-issued 350 maybe $7000 if nice. Bucket seats, horseshoe shifter, hopped-up 350 and nice wheels maybe $10-12,000. Factory SS 396, buckets, etc maybe $14-18,000. Factory 454 gets pricey. I have had a 71 and 72. Moved "up" to a 70 now, they are the most desirable. I view as an investment, have made good money on all but one--that one was my "learner" and it took 18 months to break even, so with the time value of money I lost on that one... If your goal is simply pleasure without regard to profit, buy whatever suits your fancy. I try to make money in all ventures, and cars are like anything else-- it takes money to make money--buy a GOOD one and it's better than the stock market over time. The buyers market we have been experiencing5 shows solid signs of ending. Good money will be made soon again.

NEMO | My brother and I still have our first cars, his is a '71 Malibu, all stock 307, bench seat, 3sp auto, vinyl top. Mine is a '73 Chevelle SS, maroon w/white stripes, 350/350, console shift, tilt steering, swivel buckets, all black interior. I cammed mine up, done some carb work, bored it .30 over, added headers and custom exhaust. Neither car has ran in over 20 years. Both are in need of restoration.

My first car was a 1974 Malibu Classic. Dad paid $1000 and I paid the other $1000. It had 38k miles when I bought it. It had a 350 2-bbl, TH350 column, bench seats (scan0008.jpg) Attachments ---------------- scan0008.jpg (62KB - 522 downloads)
