Iowa | Sometimes, when combustion gases want to leak around the injectors, it happens erratically.
May happen at idle cold, but not warmed up, other wise it may only happen, under a heavy load, too.
Now, their is always those weird ones, where it is actually, getting combustion gases, pushing backwards up the "tip" of the injector, BUT this is really, really pretty rare; so don't get too side-tracked thinking about this.
Sight glasses, still sound like the best thing to install. A fuel pressure reading, while driving, would be nice also.
Is this a GMC or Chevy Topkick (with a small doghouse, in the cab)? |
