nw kansas | Crop scout call me and gave yield est. today and he is usually thinking we will hit the moon (up beat), but he was so depressed I about died. When he is disappointed and calling for ave or less corn I get nervous because I'm conservative and try to be surprised. He even said it was most of the fields he was checking nothing going to break records and he covers all kinds of farms and farmers. Big water with big inputs=big yields to guys that just make a profit. Dry land around is going to be all over the board, just a replay of you guys in the big corn belt. Still a good crop but not as good as one would have thought. Interesting note also from the crop scout, custom cutter said Monday till Monday night the corn fell 6 points (picking high moisture). It was 102 here Sunday and the wind blew 30 mph on Monday but temp was 80's. | |
