Im not much for jd execpt iron horse series . But for some reason the db 120 is a curosity of mine . not because it just long either . Just neat to me. Jd website said needs 335hp tractor wonder if a smaller tracked tractor could pull it ?.Does anyone here own one or have seen one in person and have anypictures beside the ones on google .

central Indiana | under ideal conditions a smaller tractor will pull but the weight issue when roading is critical

I was walking out of the Twins game at Target Field on Saturday, standing at a crosswalk and I see a couple of guys getting hauled down the street in the back of a bicycle taxi having a good time. Guy is wearing a DB120 T-shirt! Big planters touch people the way big airplanes do.

i guess hooking this to a tractor with 170-140 dbhp is a bad idea ?

Slicker than a Yes album. | You, my friend, saw a hell of a game that night. Same can be said for the Sunday one, too.

It's like Mauer is just playing with them. Think he was 4 for 4. Wish he could hit for power though.

Morris, IL | There is a guy aroud here running a db120 on a 9430 with triples. It looks sweet. Try searching 9430 with db120 on youtube, the first 3 videos are of the rig i've seen. Supposedly they put two 24rows together years ago and it didn't go so well.

yeah i seen what i think is a jd9300 seed drill which is 4 10' drills bolted together guess seed drills are less complex than drawn planters

Dallas Center IA 515-720-2463 | Remember the old saying - 'Can I pull ------ with a ------? The answer is - 'Sure down the road' But in the case of a DB120 on most if not all 150-170 hp tractors, it would be a bit different. That size tractor on a good day might be able to pull a DB120 on level dry dirt. Throw in a uphill grade or a wet spot and it would be lost. Plus 95% of 150-170hp tractors probably have about half the hydraulics needed to run one. But put that DB120 into transport position - If the drawbar doesn't break, it will probably bend. So you get the drawbar beefed up - The front wheels will be off the ground or about ready to leave the ground. Plus the rear tires will probably be way overloaded. If you do head down the road with it I doubt if you would get a mile before the tail wagging the dog would put the outfit in the ditch.
