While that may work good for ditch banks I think a simple 3pt disc mower is many times more useful for the farm.

Probably cheaper to buy and operate too.

Pretty much all ditch mowing done around here is either done with disc mowers or sickle mowers and sickle mowers are getting fewer and fewer every year.

i guess im not as high tech as you guys, i use an old green chopper(flail chopper) Its worth 50 bucks in scrap if i hit something...and it mows off to the side too..lol

I think the ditch mower BB posted is more designed for behind a small riding lawn mower, to mow those shallow (less then 2 ft) road ditches,not the 5-6ft deep drainage ditches that are shown in the other photos.

I have 2 John Deere #5 mowers. One for parts, one for mowing. One is paid for, after 2 more payments the working one will be all mine as well. I can't wait.

We've got a 5w that gets used in places where we'd rather not stick a $7000 disc mower into.

Basically gets used for mowing weeds around the yard, esp near the scrap iron pile.

 

Hope its paid for by now, I'm sure it is depreciated out since its been here longer than I haveSmile
