Subject: Re: Switch plows

West Texas
We always run them as deep as we can pull them at a reasonable speed. About 8th gear on the smaller tractors (3.5-4 mph) and 9th gear on the bigger ones. That usually means about 14 inches deep but have plowed with them at 17. It was harder to get the dirt to turn over at 17 inches deep then at 14-15.

On the MT that is from 6th to 8th gear and have even pulled it in 9th (5.7 mph).
