I have 2 JD 995s a five and a six bottom and would not own anything different. Yes they do pull hard but if they are set right and you have good operators there is nothing that would come close to comparing. I plow in all types of soil and residue including sod and commerical corn to clean blow sand. I would agree that in our fresh green sweet corn foder it is tough to plow.The cost of replacement parts is a little more than coventional plows but worth it. One suggestion is to not under size your tractor for the plow
