Subject: RE: New Friesen Bar Design

NorthEast Iowa,

just a quick note on the Friesen toolbar. I don't do alot of posting on this site, but read alot. Our farm has the first toolbar of this stlye that Milford Friesen designed and that Harvest Int. manufactured. The post from Bobby G. that links to pictures from 2008 when we first put the rig to the field is from our farm, pulling the Montag cart behind and the NH tractor. To say Milford is "quite an individual" is an understatement, he spent the better part of 6 weeks with us as we put the striptill unit through its paces in a very wet spring in 2008. The man can draw more on a bar room napkin than most college educated engineers can do on a CAD program. As far as the toolbar, we have run it now for three years covering 2500+ acres per year with no problems except for a hyd. solenoid this spring. This is a very well designed toolbar and Harvest Int. does  excellent work in manufacturing it.

The whole concept with the Dawn pluribus striptill units and spring striptilling has worked great for our operation. We have some of the best looking corn on corn around.

Joe, the LH conversion worked fine this spring, definately made the toolbar track straighter. The freight company just picked up the other boxes of castings yesterday.
