Subject: Re: Corn on fire

One year ago we were trying to get done and picked about 7000 bushels of 21 per cent corn in December on a day that was about 10 above zero. Put it in a bin on a neighbors farm that had an old roof top dryer that was out of commission. Corn was hard to check because it was above the side door by burner. Ran fan and sniffed a couple of times and all seemed well. Came back from two week trip in middle of March. Planned on drying it when we got home. In the time we were gone that corn got to looking about half as bad as the picture of that pile! It took about 35,000 of good corn to blend it off with only a few loads docked. But like I said it wasn't as bad as those piles.
