Blooming where I am planted!

My mom passed away almost 6 years ago.  She was an excellent seamstress.  About 10 years ago I found this extra-thick, heavy fleece at Wal-Mart for 75% off.  I got a bunch of it, and she made me this robe.  It's just like I like it, with extra-long sleeves and it comes all the way down to the floor.  It is so well-made, I suspect I will have it forever.

And I'll bet it feels like a warm hug from her every time you wear it. I love to sew as well, am looking forward to doing some more now that Christmas is over. Thanks for sharing the photo.

My 9 yr old is starting to learn to sew in a class with 4H. She really likes it and has even fixed a pair of my pants. For Christmas we bought her a new sewing machine and she was really happy.

Good for her! She's learning a skill that can quickly turn into a hobby, and that will give her a lifetime of pleasure. The mending thing, well, it's still not my favorite part of sewing, but does eventually get done.
