The good thing about residue is it retains moisture and keeps soils cooler. The bad thing about residue is it retains moisture and keeps the soils cooler.
Finding the correct "blend" of the amount retained is what makes crop production either interesting or frustrating in a conservation tillage program.
Questioning sticking with notill!
