| I went to a parade yesterday and noticed as the flag passed by that hardly anyone stands, puts their hands on their hearts, or even removed their hats anymore. This frustrates me, being the military professional and American that I am. Used to be, everyone at least stood and removed their hats as it went by. Does anyone teach their kids this anymore as it seems to get less and less each generation. I make it a point to have my kids understand the importance of this small, but meaningful gesture. Sorry, just wanted to vent a little as this is one thing that hits a nerve with me.
