Subject: Meadow Hay in Lowground ??

Dang all this rain....cut the meadow hay the other night and now its too spongy to rake it all. Some of the meadow lands are peatland but usually I can cut it. Argh!! Anyhow, the stand is getting thin and with the likely hood of more rain hitting this spot, what can I plan it in to build up the root base to drive on and increase production. Tetracale? Alfalfa was here but the rains this year pretty much wiped it out after first cutting. (very little seemed to survive). Thought about clover but it takes forever to dry. I see the edges are being taken over by "swamp grasses" This hay is for beef cows.. Thanks everyone!
