Treynor IA | Yesterday morning I drove the 18 miles to where we were combining and when I got there I noticed the combine cab door was open. After further observation I saw the ladder on the back of the combine was down. Strange I thought as it was up when I left the night before. I checked the oil level and noticed the engine was warm. What is going on I thought? Was someone screwing with the combine? I did a walk around to make sure no damage was done and someone had repaired the hole in the clean grain cross auger that we had duck taped. This is getting to weird I thought. I went about servicing the machine and a truck pulled in. The guy jumped out and apologised for repairing our combine. He explained the combine he was supposed to fix was a quarter mile down the road and had the same problem. What are the odds of that? I had another little bracket that needed welding and asked if he could fix it. When he was done I offered several times to pay him and he declined. He said it was his mistake and he was sorry, I wasn't. | |
