Mississippi | Sugar hits 29-year high as crops weaken in Brazil, India If I understand sugar production, the 2010 crop already has been planted. Is that right? So, higher prices in January would not affect acreage, or can cane be planted in the spring? Also, I can't recall the production cycle for sugarbeets. Is that a crop that can be planted in the spring? The older I get, the more likely I am to profess by ignorance.
