I used to 20 years ago, but now, when you can buy Quicken for $40, I wouldn't think about using a spreadsheet for tracking a checkbook. When you can categorize your transactions, do reports, reconcile your statements, Easily track different accounts & including loans. I can't see trying to make a spreadsheet to take the place of it. Notice I stopped short of calling you crazy though.
