Panhandle of Texas | How old is the truck? Depending on the make/model/yr/engine, the ECM can be programmed for different shifting points. I know on my lateest model truck (a FLD 120) the shifting points were tweaked just a little bit by a mechanic buddy of mine, and that truck shifted so easy! I can shift it with absolutely no clutch.
I would recommend getting out on a country road that has wide intersections (for turning if you have a trailer). Having someone with you can either be a really good thing or a bad thing...depending on the person's attitude, and yours' !
