SE Neb | "What is your reasoning on wanting a single axle tractor?"
Well ... to make a long story short I need a bigger grain truck and also could use a better truck to pull gooseneck stock trailer and flatbed so my idea was to get a single axle tractor and a 24 or maybe a little bigger trailer. By going that route I could save having to buy an overpriced pickup and have a grain hauler in the process... Down the road a few yrs I am figuring that I could add a full semi and then I would have two trucks to haul with. Also the roads,field drives and yards I have to get into a shorter rig would be so much easier to work with. My local elevator choices are 4 miles, 11 miles and 12 miles and the next round of elevators are in the 15-30 mile range so the smaller rig wouldn't be all that bad for now. | |
