We needed counter weight for the loader even though the tires have fluid :( so we went to an auction the boss and I and saw the AC weights and liked them, because the would be cheaper to buy versus the IH or JD.

I thought I could figure out or find a weight bracket, so while walking around I saw a set of bale forks and started thinking (necessity births invention) so I looked it over, made some quick measurements and figured out how to reduce input cost, one problem the AC weights is they had to slide on from and end, to I figured we could buy a piece of rectangular tubing, weld a plate into it and ta da!

Like I said I didn't do the welding except for the angle braces on the back side do to the thickness of the steel, fabricating and making something home made is something I like to do, just don't get to do alot, that and re-engineering what the engineers didn't do right or anticipate. (all do respect to them)

I have pictures of another "fix" for our tree planter that I'll post some time.

I grew up on the farm, I was expected as a child to know how to do something simply because I should know how to do it even though I was never taught, so it birthed in me an ability to see something and dive in and figure it out.  I never went to school for anything, I was given the best education possible,(my opinion) and that was from my mother.  The boss has talked about sending me to the local college to take welding, so we'll see what happens, I kinda have my eye out for a Miller 251 welder now to have around, my dad had a miller 35s that we have never set up, but need to.

Thanks!
