Coles County, Illinois | I have a 1981 6620 my Dad bought new .Running a 643 and a 915F. Runs 2.6 mph in 200-250 bu.. 20% corn. 3.5 mph in 60 bu beans. So with unloading time about 30 acres of Corn and 40 acres of beans a day If you can keep the grain away from it .Has a 466 turbo and hydrostatic. As motor is same as a 7720 limiting factor is cleaning section. I run with the back chaffer section almost wide open. That way I'll hear the return filling up and telling me to slow down. Have an extension on grain tank will hold 200bu corn and 180 soybeans. In Really good corn I take 6 rows on one pass and 4 rows on another to get back on 1/4 mile rows. Running around with the tank completely full wears the loading auger and front tires out quickly. Have to keep machine full all the time or broken cobbs or unshelled pods in grain tank. Main wear items are the clean grain auger , shoe chains and sprockets, Unloading chain and small sprocket about 400 hours .Loading auger 600 hrs. Rasp bars 800-1000 hrs. Concave 1800 hrs. I've had friends that have 9000 series machines tell me that it is a nice "little" machine. I have no plans to replace it as I've heard too many stories of the 9000 series catching on fire. | |
