Cullom, Illinois | Thanks guys. I'm just backgrounding to about 750 pounds. Got about 20 acres of free grass hay each year to use up. Try to only have the calves in the lot (dirt/mud) about three months. I give them a little corn for energy but that can wait till I'm done with harvest. When its froze good in winter the lot stays nice but March/April can be a disaster. Like to get them gone by the end of February. Sale barn has some good black green tags this weekend. May as well go, sure can't combine around here! | |
