Very true!! I've seen new employees come in and think we are all too hard on the sows and by the end of the month they are treating them the same as the rest of us. Pigs are not like a dog or horse, they will fight you any chance they get if they have their mind to it. You can hit a sow with a stick or whatever you have and she'll refuse to go ... it's nothing but a tickle for her... whereas any other animal it would hurt them. My favourite saying that my employer always used to say when trying to get an obstinate sow onto a truck ... "she's either really fricken stupid or really fricken smart!!!!" | |
