For sure I would not include San Antonio or Houston.
Now Alpine or Athens or San Angelo would beat any of the three hands down. Plainview also comes to mind. I also forgot Conroe.
Should have included Canyon also.
San Marcos is part of an Urban Sprawl in the I-35 corridor. One long city from 30 miles N. of Austin to 30 miles S. of San Antonio.
On second thought I should scratch off Athens & Conroe, too many darn trees and too close to a busy interstate highway.
