NE Iowa | I have had the same 'day job' for the past 21 yrs. I farm at night, on weekends, and during many of my vacation days. Many reasons I do this, but 1 big one is that I have zero confidence that I will be able to capture some of the thousands of $$ I have put into Social Security. Running a close 2nd is that I don't have a huge amount of confidence that my employers pension money will still be there once I retire from my day job. For me, farming represents a retrirement plan that has a whole bunch of other fringe benefits.... | |
