| I run mine on a standard Toshiba Tecra 2.53Ghz with 2.87Ghz RAM, I used to run it on an IBM thinkpad with 1.7 & 1gig both with no problems, is it speedy no, but it is workable. if you are having issues with 4 gig RAM etc I think you may have something else going on, try disabling your anti virus temporarily maybe? or try a different AV I have used Avast now for 5 odd years with no issues (and no viruses)
