| I would go with the high tensile with it being along the road go 7 strands and I would put posts every thirty feet. I have 5 strands and baby calves will go through it if they get scared, but they will go through barbed wire just as fast. These are calves that are a few days old, once there a week or so I have never had a problem. I put up a little over 2 miles of ht two years ago and love it. I do have three strands that can be hot, the middle and top are grounds. I do not worry if the fence is charged or not. Either way the cows will not go through it. When I built the fence I split the pasture down the middle with four strands and posts were at 50 feet, never had anything over a week old ever go through it.
There's not to many fans of High Tensile on this site, but I will never buy another roll of barbed wire again.
Woven wire would be best, but think it would be pretty expensive.
