Farm-raised is what we're doing here. Can sell all I want @$2/doz. Freshness and knowing where the eggs were raised and being able to look the grower in the eye is my biggest selling points. Well, they sell themselves.

We also raise broilers, in an old hog barn, not confined but not free-range. Customers don't care, they want tasty farm-raised chickens and are willing to pay for them.

We're also getting asked to sell beef. Right now, the salebarn is most convenient, pays well, and no complaints but the money is starting to talk.

Town folks want farm-raised, they want to know where their food comes from, and like paying the farmer instead of the grocer (and wholesaler, and processor, and whoever else has their finger in the pie.).
