Central SD | Yes they will still be there if you only delete the .FDD - .FDL files. Field/Farm names, varieties and tasks etc. are stored in setup.fds - guidance lines and boundaries are stored in the long numbered/lettered sub-folders in the RCD.
I know Apex and card cleaning is a simple one-step process, but if you know how to use windows explorer and what files/folders purposes are, cleaning a card isn't that difficult.
I would backup the whole card - not just the data files. I don't know for sure, but some software may want to look for the data as part of the RCD folder. What software are you using?
