Here are a couple of average cow/calf pairs meeting along the fenceline on weaning day 2. Really pretty smooth and reasonably quiet. Cows with full udders making most of the noise.

Here are 2 pictures of some average cow pairs. Weaning like this does not seem very stressful. The calves have certainly been eating well. I doubt there would be any significant loss of gain.

Seems like calves weaned like this should be worth a bit of a premium.
