Agreed. That was my point also - don't make them clean up the field or strip. I made mine clean their plate at first (early Oct/some green stalks) last year and almost killed a couple. Fortunately pulled them out, fed lots of hay and they recovered. Put them back in two weeks later and didn't limit them so tight and they were fine the rest of the winter.
