I get a bit of flickering and jumping on mine when the screen's moved - but it is three years old.
Yours probably has a faulty connector and it won't heal up - but it's not certain to get worse either.
Should be returned under warranty unless you can live with it and hope for the best.
It might function happily left open on a desk for years.
