Subject: Re: More downward revisions expected on corn

I'm calling it like it is. Yields in this area are running 20% under last year. Does that mean we are having a crop failure? Absolutely not. It means that last year's incredible yields just aren't there. 220 bushel corn is now 175 bushel corn. The northern 1/3 of the state is usually very good. This year it's ok. In regards to sold bushels, we have corn priced. but not all of it. I agree that quality issues exist, which is one reason that 90% of the corn is still in the field from Bloomington north. It's just now starting to get manageable. I'm not trying to give anyone advice. I'm just giving a snapshot of what's going on in northern Illinois.

JDECILL- Where are you at in the state to have 25% corn drop 7% in one week? Or is this what it did after sitting in your bin dryer?
