| I think animal health is the key to this whole argument.
I've read a lot of writing from Joel and agree with most of it. I don't think he can make the leap from where he is coming from to enough operations like his to feed the entire population. I'm not sure that's the point anyway. I wholly agree that Dept. of Ag should butt out of our lives, who says I can't own a cow and consume the milk and milk products from her if I so choose.
We're raising broilers for sale and I can assure anyone that our broilers are raised in as clean and healthy environment that I can provide. Any broiler that doesn't appear healthy doesn't get sold. I'm sure the commercial producers feel the same way, but there is a lot of handling and time from the point it leaves the barn till it gets to the consumers hands. For me, it's about 6hrs or less.
