Most of the time it would be overkill, but with the blizzard we had a few years back it would have been nice. Had to use a D7 Cat Dozer to get around and it sure put test to the Dodge Bale pickups. I used a 6x6 with a 3000 gallon tank to water cows and it worked well. Rented a Cat track tractor to move bales with and to pull a semi trailer hauling bales around. Glad that is over with (till next time).
