Best way to clean it up is dna test your black bulls. Send the Carriers to big Macs.
Your herfys do not carry this defect.

On replacement black bulls just make sure they are tested, thus NHF, also make sure they are AMF.

Any cows you have that are carriers will cull themselves..either open next spring or open next fall.

Also, if your keeping your own replacement hiefers, I would dna those.

Interestingly that will also give a pretty good read on how much of this you've been going thru.

If the hiefers are tagged, thus you know the dam.

If the hiefer calf was out of a NHF bull but the calf is a carrier that would mean the dam is a carrier.

Your deal is kinda tough to read until down the road when you will know your using NHF bulls.
Then the only carry left in this deal is from the cow side...and that should cull itself out fairly quickly ( say 2 years ).

PIA is all it takes is exta feed.
