Thanks Hayburner for the reply. Is it possible to have both vista, and 7 installed in the computer, and have the choice to use either? I have the software for vista, and of course 7 was in the computer when I got it last week. I have tried other sites as you recomended, and I think the speed is very slow. I have contacted HP on the printer am waiting for a reply. Thanks again.
Not sure what you mean by having both Vista and 7 on the same computer, unless you are doing a dual boot configuration. I have no experience with a dual boot Vista/7 configuration, but have dual booted other operating systems before. Generally in a dual boot system, depending on how it is set up, you should get a choice when you boot which OS you want to boot into.
I don't know why you would want to boot either Vista or 7, from what I have read, those who upgraded to 7 from Vista really like it.
Do you have 7 on it now?
As for the speed, if you have gone to other sites and its slow on all, it's likely something on your PC then, like a firewall or anti-virus scanning everything before it loads. Since it's a new PC, you might be able to contact Tech support and have them walk you through configuring or shutting down or turning off things that will improve your speed.
Do you have DSL? Dial-up? Cable?
You can check your network speed using a DSL test site like: http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/
Choose the city closest to you and see what you get. I have a 782K DSL package, and my speed is 743K download and 494K upload, which is actually better than I expected. Try the test a couple times and see what the best speed is. |
