You don't get it do you??? I already explained everyhting I am doing. I'll even add to that. My ground is grid sampled, so I know exactly what I have and if I have any shortages it is taken care of. Especially with manure. My manure is put on with varible rate equipment.So that factor is a nonissue. I plant early, so that issue is taken care of. I use preemergence herbicide to control early weeds and spray timely, so that isssue is taken care of. I can't control the rain but I can control the soil profile with tile , so thats taken care of. I scout for insects like aphids and spray timely so thats taken care of.
I have an almost new planter and use residue managers and get a very good stand so thats a non issue. I adjust my combine and harvest soybeans at 14% if possible so thats a non-issue. I yield map everyhting and cross reference that with my fertility maps.So whats left???Your going to raise my yields 20% ??????????????????? Ya right. Obviously you don't know my operation very well.
I hold huge field days every year and we talk about agronomic topics that are key to growers. So we are already doing what you say is key for high yields.
Biggest mistake I see made is variety selection.
Yes I can predict next years top tier soybeans, because I sell for a top name breeding company I have access to the newest lines and very good data. You are not thinking a year behind. If you utilize multiple environment data it increase your chances of selecting the proper variety for next year. How do you think breeding companies select new products??? Guessing????
For example last year I selected 1932-4 and 2062-4 as the 2 top sellers for my dealers. Told them run the majority of the acres with these 2.
Well this year 1932-4 is kicking everyones butt (looking at other companies data)and 2062-4 is not far behind, so you still think its not good data ???? I will let my sales record speak for itself.
Oh by the way with everyhting on spread sheets it doesn't take very long to compile data.
